With a strong December 2006 result of 538 units (up 32.5% compared with December 2005) ending an extraordinary year, the brand with four rings has finished the full year up 20 percent compared with the 12 months to December 2005.

Audi Australia’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann, said the result was excellent - a clear success story following on from the previous record sales result of 4,808 units in 2005.

“I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank our national Audi Dealer Network and the entire Audi Team for their dedication and enthusiasm for the Audi brand throughout the year,” Mr Hofmann said.

“Our plan was to end the year with double digit growth and we have done this convincingly thanks to excellent new products like the Q7 performance SUV, TT sportscar and several new sporty diesel variants, as well as a steadily growing brand image and strong teamwork."
