BMW Group Australia has confirmed revised pricing for its current 2005 model line-up.

The change in retail prices comes into effect following the reduction in federal government duty tax rates for imported passenger cars.

BMW Group Australia will pass these savings on to customers by reducing recommended retail prices. As an example, the revised price of the BMW 318i moves from $49,950 to $48,400.

In addition to the duty tax reduction, the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Australia and the United States of America (USA) that also came into effect on 1st January has provided a further opportunity for Sports Utility Vehicle and Roadster buyers.

The pricing for the Z4 Roadster, built at the BMW Group Spartanburg plant in the USA, has been revised to the new recommended retail price of $74,500 for the 5-speed 2.5-litre variant.

With the FTA in place, BMW Group Australia has also taken the opportunity to realign pricing of its 4WD offerings. The X3 now begins at $63,900 for the 2.5-litre variant with 6-speed manual transmission while the X5, also built at BMW Group’s USA plant, starts at $79,900.

BMW Group Australia managing director, Dr Franz Sauter said, “The passing on of the duty reduction to our customers will make our product range even more competitive and attractive."
