The Citroën C3 Pluriel, the revolutionary five-in-one car from Citroën, will go on sale in Australia on Saturday 11th September, just in time for the delights of open top motoring as Spring arrives.

The Citroën C3 Pluriel, voted cabriolet of the year at its European launch last year, is a remarkable design that combines five types of car in one impossibly cute shape. In a matter of seconds it can convert from a versatile hatchback, to an open coupe with fully open sides and roof, through a cabriolet to an open top car and, with folding seats and a drop down tail gate, it can even offer the abilities of a compact ute!

Even more remarkably, when the roof is folded, it does not rob the Citroën C3 Pluriel of load space. Astonishingly, the entire roof, glass rear window and rear hatch fold up and into a space under the floor of the boot, leaving the boot space untouched by the folded roof. The drop down tailgate also means that this >space is easily accessible in the tightest conditions.

"Car makers make this claim all the time, but with the Citroën C3 Pluriel, it really is the case that there is nothing quite like it on the market," says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën in Australia.  "Every other car looses flexibility and space when it becomes a soft top, with the roof meaning the loss of hatchback versatility, tiny boot lids and roofs that steal boot space. Not with the C3 Pluriel. Other convertibles are conversions on existing cars, making them often look heavy and lumpen with the roof in place. Not the Citroën C3 Pluriel. It may based on the platform of the Citroën C3, but it is very much its own car styled from the start to be a convertible, so roof up, down or any of the stages in between, the Citroën C3 Pluriel looks cute as a button and ready for fun!"

The Citroën C3 Pluriel will be powered by the 1.6 litre 83 kW engine used in the top Citroën C3 as standard. Full details of its specification and prices will be announced when it goes on sale (expect a figure in low to mid $30,000's), but it is expected that the Citroën C3 Pluriel will be well equipped with electric windows, remote central locking, power mirrors, CD audio system and the power roof all standard.
