The Citroen DS4 has arrived locally, providing a car that combines the space and convenience of a tall body car with the expected ease of access of a five door car.

The car’s distinctive styling blends dramatic lines with versatile hatchback functionality, together with a raised-stance.

The DS4’s striking profile portrays unique styling efforts. Its lines are enhanced by a chrome-finished waistline and dark tinted windows. Sculpted wheel arches emphasise the stylish alloys. The taut roofline and rear spoiler add extra prowess.

The DS4 belies its versatile 5-door lay out. Three full-size rear seats are accessed via rear doors with handles encased in the car’s extended window frames. When open, these rear doors reveal their angular shape as a unique design touch.

The interior exudes a sense innovation and finesse through careful attention to detail. From the acoustics to the cabin materials, the DS4 projects an air of confidence and sophistication. In the DS4 DSport version, the drilled aluminium pedals, embossed door handles and a choice of two leather combinations completes the atmosphere.

A large panoramic windscreen offers enhanced occupant visibility and illuminates the driver-focused cockpit, providing a bright and welcoming environment.

Keeping form and function in perfect harmony, the DS4 boasts compact exterior dimensions - 4.27m (length), 1.81m (width) and 1.53m (height) - for versatility and day-to-day functionality.

There is room to seat five adults with generous head, leg and shoulder room throughout. The boot measures in at 359 litres.

In keeping with Citroën’s focus on ‘Créative Technologie’, the interior is home to a range of storage solutions for maximum convenience. The cabin design includes a raised centre console (available on models fitted with the EGS gearbox) with a cooled, illuminated and protected compartment that holds up to four 500ml bottles and houses a connectivity area with a USB port and a 12-volt socket.

The DS4’s cabin boasts innovation for ultimate user confidence and travelling comfort. Additional touches such as massaging front seats with electric lumbar adjustment further personalise the cabin.

With its raised, taut and agile stance, the Citroen DS4 is tuned for performance that will satisfy many drivers. The suspension and steering are engineered to be responsive and smooth.

Citroën’s new DS4 is powered by a range of three Euro 5 compliant engines, delivering refined performance with fuel and CO2 efficiency. There are two petrol engines with a choice of 115 or 147 kW and the 82 kW e-HDI is fitted as standard with Citroen’s micro hybrid system.

The spirited 147 kW THP dispenses power and performance with a 0-100 kmh time of 8.5 seconds. Efficient, this engine returns 6.4 l/100 km over a combined cycle with low CO2 emissions of 149 g/km.

The Citroen DS4 e-HDi, which is arriving this month, boasts Citroën’s innovative micro-hybrid technology, with second generation Stop & Start, boosts fuel economy by up to 15 per cent in city driving conditions and lowers the model’s official CO2 emissions to 114 g/km, while offering a combined fuel consumption figure of 4.4 l/100 km.

The DS4 has been awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. An extensive range of safety features are available as standard, including ESP with Intelligent Traction Control, ABS with EBD and EBA and six airbags. Other safety enhancing technology includes programmable cruise control with speed limiter and Citroën’s new blind-spot monitoring system.

Both versions of the DS4, the DStyle and DSport, are comprehensively well equipped with unique Citroen touches such as the extra large windscreen, drinks coolers, a rechargeable torch and elegant interiors.

The Citroen DS4 is launched in Australia in three different versions, the Citroen DS4 DStyle 115 kW Turbo Petrol with a six speed EGS gearbox as standard is priced at a manufacturer's list price* of $35,990*. The Citroen DS4 DStyle e-HDI Turbo Diesel, also with an EGS gearbox as standard, is priced at a manufacturer's list price* of $36,990*. Topping the range, the Citroen DS4 DSport, with a six speed manual gearbox matched to its 147 kW Turbo petrol engine, priced at a manufacturer's list price* of $39,990*.
