Falcon Ute Ups the Value Ante

31st May, 2004

Ford has upped the ante on its line-up of market-leading Falcon Utes with the release of four special edition models.

Heading the special edition line-up is the Tradesman, offering exceptional value for trade related customers. Based on the Falcon XL cab chassis, the Tradesman comes complete with stylish 16-inch alloy wheels rated to one-tonne, unique Tradesman decals and the choice of an aluminium tray or $1000 towards a custom tray.

With a recommended retail price of just $26,875*, the Tradesman pack offers $2680 worth of added extras at a premium of just $500 over a regular Falcon XL cab chassis ute.

The Falcon SE is the ideal ute for the recreational or 'dual purpose' buyer wanting a vehicle capable of handling anything a tradesman dishes out in his working week, and equally adept to fulfilling his recreational needs on the weekend.

The SE is based on the XL styleside box and includes one-tonne rated 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning and unique SE decals.

The SE pack features $3540 of added extras at a premium of just $500 over a regular Falcon XL styleside box ute, bringing the recommended retail price to $27,475*.

The limited edition Marlin ute is based on both the XLS Falcon cab chassis and styleside box and includes air-conditioning, side skirts, body colour side protection mouldings and unique Marlin decals.

Total value of the added extras is $2650 for the cab chassis and $2900 for the styleside box. Recommended retail pricing for the Marlin starts at $29,080*, representing a $500 premium.

"Falcon Ute has always represented outstanding value as a rugged workhorse that is also extremely capable as a weekend getaway vehicle," said Falcon Ute Marketing Manager Damon Paull.

"Its mix of innovative supercab design, the availability of six-cylinder, V8 or E-Gas engines, and the option of manual, floor shift automatic or column shift automatic transmission make the Falcon Ute Australia's ultimate light commercial vehicle.

"This limited edition range, on sale from May to September, takes Falcon Ute's value equation to another level."

The Falcon Ute was the top selling light commercial in Australia last year, becoming the first light truck to sell more than 20,000 units in a single market segment.

This year, the Falcon Ute is on track to break that record again.
