Holden's Astra Classic Value Is Now Even Sharper

9th February, 2005

The value in Holden's TS Astra Classic series has been further sharpened with TS Astra Classic Equipe, a new pack delivering extra features worth $1500 for no extra cost.

The Classic edition of one of Australia's most popular cars will be provided with 15" alloy wheels, rear power windows, anti-lock braking system, traction control, cruise control and heatable power mirrors as standard.

The Equipe pack will be offered on the four-door sedan and five-door hatch Classic models. It will be delivered with distinctive Equipe badging on the driver and front passenger doors.

The Astra Classic Equipe models will be available in Holden dealerships by the end of February with recommended retail pricing of $18,990 for manual and $20,990 for automatic transmissions.

Holden Marketing Manager for Passenger Cars, Alan Blazevic, said Astra Classic Equipe represented outstanding value for a car already recognised as a major part of the thriving small car market.

"Astra Classic has been an extremely popular move alongside the new AH Astra and the Equipe pack is expected to continue this momentum," Mr Blazevic said.

"Astra was Holden's second most popular nameplate only behind Commodore in 2004 and one Australia's top 10 cars. It has succeeded through choice in a range of prices, specifications and renowned reliability."
