- Three new exterior colours for VF Commodore and Model Year 2014 Cruze
- New colours: Regal Peacock, Fantale, Prussian Steel
Holden has introduced three all-new exterior colours for the locally made VF Commodore and Model Year 2014 Holden
Cruze.
The renewed colour palette is led by Regal Peacock, a jewel-like green metallic designed with a vibrant depth of
colour. Featuring dark elements that are close to black and a liquid emerald green highlight.
Two further colours are new for Model Year 2014 production - Fantale, available on selected sports models and
described as a solid orange with punch, and Prussian Steel, a sophisticated silver-grey that presents a premium luxury
look.
Holden Colour and Trim Chief Designer, Kirsty Lindsay said “The new colour palette for VF Commodore and Cruze has
been in development for over four years. Forecasting our colour palette is crucial to a successful launch but due to
paint development lead times, we have to predict what colours are going to be fashionable three to four years ahead of
launch.”
Holden’s 2013 Holden exterior colour palette carries over seven popular colours - Heron White, Red Hot, Karma Blue,
Phantom Black, Nitrate Silver, Alchemy Purple and Perfect Blue - in addition to the three new colours to present a
broad range of choices for buyers.
“With Regal Peacock, we really set out to create a colour that would work across the range, but that would look
particularly spectacular on our luxury and premium sports models,” Mrs Lindsay said.
“As the name suggests, the resulting colour is regal in appearance, and the announcement of its Pantone equivalent
as the colour of the year bears out our own research four years ago, it’s contemporary and will be seen everywhere in
coming months.”
“Orange has been a perennial favourite on Holden vehicles for more than two decades, from Sebring Orange on the
Monaro and Torana to the Sandman Panel Van in Valencia Orange and Tiger Orange on VT II,” she said.
“It’s a colour that can be constantly reinvented to stay relevant and we have already had great feedback on the
latest interpretation since we revealed the SSV showcar in a custom kandy version of Fantale in March.”
“Holden debuted Prussian Steel on the VF Calais V showcar. It was designed to complement VF Commodore’s chrome
exterior highlights and premium interior elements. It is machine-like and technical and looks beautiful with chrome
accents. Paired with the Light Titanium interior that is offered on the Calais V, the result really does create a premium
luxury package,” she said.
