28th July, 2004

Get your hands on a Defender 90 for a whole lot less with an all-new entry level price of $39,950.

Land Rover Defenders have long been regarded as the quintessential four wheel drive and the choice of vehicle for the military, peace keeping forces and farmers the world over.

Already a cult vehicle in Europe the Defender 90 is equally at ease in the urban environment as it is in the outback, with a shorter wheelbase and decreased departure angles, allowing it to tackle the toughest of terrain with ease.

Standard equipment includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Traction Control (ETC) which provide advanced levels of safety and on/off the road grip. The two-speed transfer box includes a locking centre differential, which can be engaged for ultimate traction, enabling easy negotiation of the most daunting terrain. In addition, the 90 comes with some cabin creature comforts including air conditioning, CD player, electric windows and alloy wheels as standard equipment.

A rigid chassis, long travel coil suspension and powerful, all disc brakes provide the best payload and towing ability in its class. The tough steel chassis is mated to a body of aluminium alloy, which is both light, and resistant to rust. Indeed the Defender 90 is likely to out work and out last the toughest of drivers.

Aussie spec Defender 90 is only available in a two-seat hard top wagon with 2.5 litre five-cylinder turbo diesel engine capable of 90kW at 4200rpm and 300Nm at 1950rpm.

The Defender 90 is offered in seven colours: Atlantic Blue, Epsom Green, Tempest Yellow, Denham White, Morgan Grey, Dysart Black and Tanami Red.

Defender 90's unbeatable combination of short wheelbase, Land Rover's proven 4WD technology and rugged good looks are all you need to enjoy Australia's great outdoors.

RRP: $39,950   Excluding on-road costs. Price subject to change without notice.
