Good supply of the Mazda 3 got Mazda Australia’s sales back on track last month, delivering the company’s best November on record, according to VFACTS figures.

Mazda 3 had its second best month since launch (2182 retails) with the resumption of free supply allowing its monthly total to top 2000 for the first time since July.

During the past few months typhoons, annual holidays in Japan and strong global demand have limited Mazda 3 supply to Australia. As the November result demonstrates these supply constraints have been rectified.

Mazda’s record November result of 4808 vehicles is up 11.8 per cent on the same month last year and this momentum is expected to continue in December with the company already introducing 2005 tariff reduced car prices.

The 2005 tariff cut pricing brings passenger car savings of between $660 and $3150.

The record November ensures that Mazda will set an all time sales record this year with its YTD total to the end of November at 51,080, just 2137 sales behind last year’s overall sales record of 53,217.

Mazda Australia’s managing director, Doug Dickson, said: “Our improved supply has made an instant impact on sales, delivering our best November on record."

“And we expect this momentum to further improve this month with our decision to introduce the savings offered by the 2005 tariff cut a month ahead of time”.

Improved stock also helped boost sales of the Mazda 2 to 447 cars, an improvement of 54.1 per cent over last November.

Mazda 6 remains the top-selling imported mid-size car, taking 23.1 per cent share of the medium market with 974 sales, an increase of 32.5 per cent over the previous month.

The company’s rotary-powered flagship, the RX-8, was also buoyed by better supply, improving its sales to 116 vehicles from 86 the previous month.

Other strong performers included the ever-popular B Series which recorded a 28.5 per cent increase (536 sales) over November last year.
