2005 Mercedes-Benz E-class with Sports Package

The E-Class has had a sporty edge added to its character with the arrival of two new Sports Packages, now available in Mercedes-Benz showrooms around the country. The two new Sports Packages will be available for the E 200 KOMPRESSOR saloon, E 350 and E 500 saloon and estate model variants, providing a sportier addition to the E-Class.

The Sports Package accentuates the dynamic character of the E-Class and includes elegant 18” light alloy wheels with a 10 twin-spoke design, increased lateral support for the front seats, front and rear ‘twin leather’ sports seats for the E 200 KOMPRESSOR and leather sports seats for the front and rear of the E 350 and E 500 models. The newly developed light-alloy wheels are combined with wide-base tyres in size 245/40 R 18 at the front and 265/35R 18 at the rear. The Sports Package also boasts a sportier suspension and ten per cent more direct steering ratio (14.7:1) with a speed-dependent function.

Other features include a 4-spoke sports multi-function steering wheel, headlamp cleaning system in conjunction with Elegance and Avantgarde model lines, lowered chassis with sports-tuned suspension, larger brake system, silver painted front brake callipers with Mercedes-Benz logo, front brake discs internally ventilated and perforated, parameter steering, rear apron and side skirts in Avantgarde design, sports tuned exhaust and twin oval exhaust tailpipes, steering wheel with gearshift buttons, sports pedals and footrest made out of stainless steel with black rubber studs and velour mats with silver Mercedes-Benz lettering.

In addition to the above features included in the Sports Package, the AMG Sports package which is available on the E 350 and E 500 also includes AMG body styling consisting of both a front and rear apron, AMG twin-pipe exhaust system with chrome AMG tailpipes, 18” AMG light alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design and velour inlay mats with AMG lettering.

“The new sports packages available on the E-Class will create extra appeal for customers who want to individualise their purchase. The additional features available will provide customers with even more added value”, said Horst von Sanden, managing director of the Mercedes Car Group for Australia.

The two new packages include the Sports Package available on the E 200 KOMPRESSOR, E 350 and E 500, and an AMG Sports Package available on the E 350 and E 500 model variants.

Recommended retail pricing for the Sports Package starts at $2,000 through to $4,900 depending on the model variant. The AMG Sports Package starts at $10,650 through to $12,550 depending on the E350 and E 500 model variant.

The additional packages are now available to order and will be offered as ongoing special equipment for the E 200 KOMPRESSOR, E 350 and E 500.
