With Over 4 million Sold, the Peugeot 206 Just Keeps on Getting Better

The Peugeot 206 – one of Europe’s best ever selling cars has just reached an impressive milestone – the fourth million example recently rolled off the production line in Mulhouse, France.

To coincide with this remarkable achievement, the 206 is set to become even more sought after in Australia thanks to a host of improvements to specification and standard equipment levels.

The changes apply across the 206 range, which features an impressive array of models; for those looking for a well-equipped hatchback that’s fun to drive, to those wanting the renowned performance of the GTi and GTi ‘180’ or the chic style and elegance of the Coupe Cabriolet.

Safety and Security – Minimum of 2 airbags and ABS on all 206 models

Already well equipped and starting at only $19,990, the 206 XR range now features a passenger airbag as standard, along with ABS braking.

The 206 XT already features a passenger airbag, but also benefits from the addition of ABS.

The 206 GTi is now equipped with six airbags, with curtain airbags joining the existing driver, passenger and side airbags. Along with the 2.0-litre 206CC, the GTi also receives Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard.

New Gearbox

A Tiptronic gearbox replaces the current automatic transmissions on all models in the 206 line-up, offering the benefits of both manual and automatic driving. The Tiptronic gearbox allows the driver to change gears manually with the selector, or use the regular Automatic mode as desired.

Interior

The internal specification of all versions has been improved by the introduction of upgraded trim and roof linings. These visual improvements are also enhanced by a further reduction in wind and engine noise intrusion, making for an even more luxurious driving experience. Improved seat bolsters on XR and XT models have also been added.

And the best news…

Despite some impressive additional equipment, the best news for buyers is that apart from the 2.0-litre 206CC (a $1000 price increase), there will be no change in the recommended retail price for the rest of the 206 range.
