- Choice of new 1.6 and 2.0 litre HDi engines
- 307 HDi engines now fitted with particulate filters
- All Peugeot HDi’s now feature the cleanest diesel engines – meeting strict Euro IV emission standards

The popular Peugeot 307 is now available with a new range of diesel engines, boasting the very latest in HDi engine technology.

The two new power plants, a 1.6 litre and a 2.0 litre, are both equipped with particulate filters, offering improved power, torque and fuel economy over the engine they replace.

The 1.6 litre HDi engine is available in the 307 hatch and Touring, and compared to the previous generation 2.0-litre 307 HDi, the new 1.6-litre version is 21 percent more powerful, producing 80 kW instead of 66 kW at the same 4,000 rpm.

Even more significant is the increase in engine torque. This increases from 205 Nm at 2,000 rpm to 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm

The new 2.0 litre engine is available in the Touring only, boasting 100kW of power and an impressive 320Nm of torque.

In terms of fuel economy, the two new engines offer even better consumption figures.

. The new 307 XSR HDi 1.6 averages an outstanding 6.1 litres/100 km in the City Cycle, and 4.3 litres/100 km in the highway cycle. The 307 XSR Touring 2.0 litre HDi boasts the figures of 7.3 litres/100km and 4.7 litres/100km.

The combined fuel consumption figures make this Peugeot 307 one of the most economical cars available in Australia.

Performance is also brisk, with the 2.0 litre Touring HDi accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, and the 1.6 litre Hatch HDi in only 11.2 seconds.

The fitment of an intercooler, which was not fitted to the previous 2.0-litre version further, improves efficiency.

Furthermore, the 307 HDi is compliant with strict ‘Euro 4 legislation’, as it eliminates particles by means of its particulate filter resulting in a very clean emission, and has low outputs of harmful greenhouse gasses (CO2 129 g/km).

The award-winning 307 HDi comes with a high level of specification as standard, including 16 inch aluminium alloy wheels, climate control air conditioning, anti-lock brakes with EBFD and six air bags.

Recommended retail pricing:

Model RRP Power Torque
307 XSR HDi 1.6 Hatch $29,990 80kW 240Nm
307 XSR HDi 1.6 Touring $31,690 80kW 240Nm
