12th November, 2004

The Peugeot 407 was recently unveiled as the newly crowned Scottish Car of the Year. This prestigious accolade is voted for, and presented by, the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers and given to the vehicle that its members consider to be the finest new arrival into the market place.

The Peugeot 407, which was launched in the UK in May, instantly made an impression with its purposeful styling, outstanding driving dynamics and superb value for money. The saloon was recently joined in showrooms by the 407 SW; a stylish estate that like its sibling has set new standards for design and dynamics within its class.

Ally Ballingall, president of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, says of the Peugeot 407: "2004 has seen many fine new cars come onto the market, but our members clearly consider that the new Peugeot 407 sets the standard by which other new cars should be judged. The 407 is proving to be an enormous success with Scottish buyers, as it is throughout the rest of the UK."

Indeed, the 407 is proving to be a runaway success in showrooms throughout Europe, with a remarkable 150,000 vehicles targeted to be sold by the end of the year.
