One of Australia’s favourite hot hatches has just been turned up as the iconic Megane R.S. 265 adopts Renault’s new
brand identity and it is now available locally. The New Brand Identity which was developed by Renault’s Senior
Vice President of Design, Laurens van den Acker, and first debuted on the Clio range will now roll out across the Megane
range, commencing with the range-topper – the Megane R.S. 265.
The R.S. model was designed to deliver maximum driving pleasure. It packs a range of technologies illustrating the
finest Renault Sport expertise, including a 2.0 16V 265 hp engine, mechanical limited-slip differential, an independent
pivoting front axle and a critically acclaimed Cup chassis.
Already extremely powerful, Megane R.S. styling has taken on even more dynamism with the brand’s new design identity.
The new front-end features the enlarged Renault logo, showcased by the gloss black background.
The new headlights, adding to the new line’s powers of attraction, stand out with their gloss back “eyelids”. The lamp
units are fitted with a lens and underscored by a white comma, amplifying the light beam and providing top-quality
lighting at night. In a styling touch applied across the Renault Sport range – and in a nod to Renault’s Formula 1
success – the F1 blade is fitted on the new front bumper.

As standard, the new Megane R.S. 265 now features Stop & Start technology. The Stop & Start technology
involves automatically cutting the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill. When driving exclusively in urban areas,
fuel savings can amount to more than 1 litre per 100km and the new Megane R.S. 265 has a combined cycle fuel consumption
rating of just 7.5 litres per 100km.
As with the previous Megane R.S., drivers are able to adjust the amount of driver assistance through the R.S. Dynamic
Management system. This system is activated by the R.S. button on the dashboard and has three settings – Normal, ESC
Sport and ESC Off. Through the R.S. Dynamic Management system drivers are able to adjust the levels of Electronic
Stability Control (ESC), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), engine output and throttle mapping to deliver the ultimate driving
experience.
The line-up for the Megane R.S. 265 range has been simplified in-line with customer demand. The new Megane R.S. 265
line-up will now consist of two specification levels – Cup and Cup Premium. The Megane R.S. 265 Cup will have an MLP* of
$43,990* and the Megane R.S. 265 Cup Premium will have an MLP of $47,990*.
The Cup specification now features Renault’s innovative R-Link entertainment and navigation system as standard. This
is the first time that navigation has been standard on the entry level Megane R.S. 265. In addition Megane R.S. 265 Cup
will now feature the new R.S. Monitor system – which first debuted on the new Clio R.S. 200 EDC. Finally the Cup will
come standard with hands-free entry and start, along with being fitted with 18-inch Tibor alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot
Sport tyres.
The new Cup Premium will replace the previous Trophy and Trophy+ specifications. The new specification has been
developed in response to customer feedback and demand and will include leather RECARO bucket seats as standard. In
addition the new Cup Premium will have a rear view camera as standard and 19-inch Steev alloy wheels with Continental
ContiSportContact tyres.
The new Megane R.S. 265 range will be available in seven body colours including the Liquid Yellow and Pearl White
colours which have previously only been seen on limited edition variants. In addition the Cup Premium will now be
available to order with the gloss black 19-inch Steev alloy wheels with red piping.

interact with their vehicle.”

R.S. REPLAY: FOR SHARING MOTOR SPORT FUN WITH FRIENDS
R.S. Monitor 2.0, integrated in the R-Link multimedia touchscreen, includes a set of functions for live display and
vehicle data acquisition. The all-inclusive and fun-to-use system – the only one of its kind on the market – displays
figures from 15 sensors, torque and power curves, and a CG diagram of longitudinal and lateral accelerations. By
downloading the plan of the circuit from a USB key, drivers even get access to an automatic timer to monitor their
progress on a lap-by-lap basis!
Drivers can save their data on a USB key and make full use of them with R.S. Replay software, available for PC and
Mac. They can “replay” their best track performances, displaying the position of their car on the circuit, power, engine
revs, steering wheel angle and pedal travel. As with apps used in motor sport competition, the software can superimpose
the performance of two drivers and compare them. All this data can be shared with the Renault Sport community on the new
web site www.renaultsport.com/rsreplay/.
