Renault Announces Australian Preview
of the All-New Scenic II

2005 Renault Scenic II

4th January, 2005

Renault will launch the new five-seat Scénic II through a pre-release programme via its national dealer network ahead of its official on-sale date of 1st February, 2005.

Customers will get their first chance to experience the practical and stylish new Scénic II from January through their local Renault dealer. All dealers will be supplied with one production specification Scénic II, which will be available for customer test drives and demonstrations.

The pre-release of this stunning new model is designed to showcase the Scénic II’s sensational new design with its innovative interior and expressive exterior style.

With a recommended retail price from $29,990*, the Scénic II range includes three specification variants ranging from the entry-level Authentique, mid-spec Expression and range-topping Dynamique.

All three variants are powered by a responsive and efficient 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine matched to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed pro-active automatic.

Like the entire Renault passenger vehicle range, the Scénic II offers a comprehensive range of features, including cruise control, power front windows, in-dash CD player with fingertip radio controls and Renault’s flexible rear-seating system.

The Scénic II also receives an extensive array of safety features including dual front and side airbags, curtain airbags and front and rear seatbelt pretensioners. On top of these important passive safety features the Scénic II also has standard ABS brakes with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist.

Confirming the vehicle’s safety record, Scénic II was awarded a maximum five-star rating by the independent organization Euro NCAP in Europe in November 2003.

With a score of 34.12 points out of 37 1, Scénic II is one of the safest vehicles for occupant protection in the compact MPV class.

With over 2 million units produced by the end of 2002, Scénic, voted European Car of the Year 1997, has emphatically left its mark on the Mégane line.

Renault Australia’s managing director, Rudi Koenig, highlighted the Scénic’s role in creating the compact MPV class with the first model released in 1996.

“Renault has a history of developing new and challenging models which offer customers both practical and stylish solutions and the Scénic II offers added versatility and roominess with the driving pleasure of a traditional saloon,” said Mr Koenig.

“We are excited to offer customers the chance to experience the Scénic II prior to its arrival in February 2005.

“Renault dealers are pleased to provide demonstrations and test-drives of this sensational new Scénic and will be happy to take customer orders,” Mr Koenig said.
