Thirty historic Rolls-Royce motor cars and three new Rolls-Royce Phantoms celebrated the centenary of one of the world’s best known marques at the Lord Mayor’s Show in London, UK last weekend.  Jointly organised by the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited, the display clearly illustrated the theme of this year’s show, ‘Celebrating Excellence’.

Rolls-Royce cars from every decade since the company was formed in 1904 were represented, with several rare and unique models being shown. The earliest cars will be two 1914 Silver Ghosts with bodywork by H.J. Mulliner (tourer) and Barker (cabriolet). Other models in the procession were a 1938 Wraith which was Montgomery's staff car, a 1920 Silver Ghost armoured car and a 1961 Silver Cloud II. Three new Rolls-Royce Phantoms completed this spectacular gathering.

Speaking at the Rolls-Royce Head Office at Goodwood, corporate communications director, Graham Biggs, said: “We are delighted with the support that the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club has given us for the Lord Mayor’s Show in this special year for our marque. This event is another important part of our year long centenary celebrations and we are especially pleased to present these wonderful motor cars in London.”

The Lord Mayor’s Show, the oldest street procession of its kind in the world, took place on Saturday 13th November and welcomed Alderman Michael Savory into office as the 677th Lord Mayor. This year the record breaking procession involved 6000 participants, 2000 servicemen and women, 20 marching bands and over 350 vehicles.
