Volvo Cars will recall certain C30 models to repair an engine component which may effect the car's braking ability.

Volvo C30 DRIVe vehicles MY 2009 to MY2011, fitted with a 1.6 1itre diesel engine are involved.

What are the hazards? Increased brake pedal force to be used by the driver.

What are the defects? The cover panel on top of the engine can chafe against the vacuum pump and the brake booster, and in some cases this condition may lead to a vacuum leak in the brake booster system. If this chafing condition should occur, depending on the size of the hole on the vacuum hose, it may lead to a gradual reduction of brake booster assistance while braking (i.e. pedal brake will feel hard to operate).
