Dubbo man seven times PCA limit

Dubbo Police have charged a man after he returned a blood alcohol reading more than seven times the legal limit.

The 46-year-old man was charged with a high-range PCA after he returned a blood analysis reading of .359.

The charge relates to an incident on 6th November when the Dubbo man was allegedly involved in a crash at the intersection of Fitzroy and Macquarie Streets about 6.20pm.

Following an on-going investigation the man was located in Dubbo yesterday where, after being spoken to by police, he was charged with drive with high-range PCA, drive while suspended and using an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.

The man is due to appear in Dubbo Local Court on 17th February.






Woman dies in two-car crash - Lapstone

A young woman died after the hatchback she was driving and a sedan collided on the Great Western Highway at Lapstone last night.

Witnesses told police that a Hyundai Excel was being driven east about 6.45pm when it crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with a Ford Fairmont travelling in the opposite direction.

The 20-year-old driver of the Excel, from Greystanes, died at the scene. She was the only person in the Excel.

The driver of the sedan, a 55-year-old man from Glenbrook, suffered bruising to his chest and legs and severe shock. He was taken by ambulance to Nepean Hospital where he was treated before being allowed to leave.

The highway re-opened shortly after 10.30pm.
