Already an most eye-catching and attractive car, the styling revisions for the Giulietta Series 1 have been carefully considered, and include all-new interiors, revised exteriors and powertrains.

The Giulietta’s stylish interior has received major technology enhancements, with the new 5.0- or 6.5-inch (with Navigation) touchscreen taking pride of place in the redesigned, high-quality dashboard, with the associated USB/Aux ports now relocated to a more convenient position in the centre console.

The all-new Uconnect system, fitted as standard across the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range, is operated via a 5.0-inch touchscreen or using voice commands and includes Bluetooth connectivity, wireless music streaming and hands-free SMS reading. Giulietta models fitted with satellite navigation benefit from a larger 6.5-inch screen with 3D bird's-eye maps, intelligent route guidance and a one-step destination entry function with voice command. Both systems have been developed in collaboration with first-class partners: Harman and Here Auto for Uconnect 6.5" and Continental for Uconnect 5".

New door trim panels and a sporty new steering wheel design that incorporates the Alfa Romeo ‘Shield’ bring improved quality and more style to the cabin, while the redesigned seats – available in leather trim with heating - not only exude Italian craftsmanship, but are also more comfortable and more enveloping.

Extensively revised sound insulation also provides a quieter and more relaxed driving environment.

Exterior design revisions include a new front grille design featuring the Alfa Romeo ‘V’, revised front fog light bezels, new 16-inch alloy wheel designs and three new exterior colours  (Moon White, Anodized Blue and Bronze) to further enhance its visual appeal.

Two engines will be offered, depending on trim level. The Giulietta Progression is equipped with Alfa Romeo’s 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 88kW @ 5,000rpm and 215Nm @ 2,500rpm. Proving performance can be efficient, the powerplant propels the Giulietta to 100km/h in 9.2secs. The Giulietta Progression is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Giulietta Distinctive is powered by Alfa Romeo’s 1.4-litre MultiAir engine which offers uncompromised performance and impressive efficiency. Generating 125kW @ 5,500rpm and 250Nm @ 2,500rpm, the Giulietta Distinctive offers 0 to 100km/h in 7.6secs. The Giulietta Distinctive can be matched to a six-speed manual or six-speed TCT transmission.

Regardless of engine choice, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta driver always has the option of customising their car's driving character using the standard Alfa DNA driving selector, allowing them to find the ideal blend of comfort, performance, safety and efficiency for the prevailing conditions.

Driving Dynamics

In addition to VDC traction control, six airbags, three-point seat belts with double pre-tensioner, an anti-whiplash system and a third load line for excellent passenger compartment protection, the Giulietta is also fitted with the Alfa DNA driving selector and electronic Q2 differential - the system which allows torque to be transferred to the outer wheel when cornering, to prevent understeer at the front, with traction, safety and driveability benefits.

The Giulietta also features DST (which prompts drivers to apply the correct steering input in the event of an emergency through impulses at the wheel) and a pre-fill system which arms the brakes for emergency braking situations when it senses the driver may be losing control of the vehicle. As a further safety measure, a tyre pressure monitoring system is also now standard across the Alfa Romeo Giulietta range.

The Giulietta earned five stars in crash tests according to the parameters introduced by Euro NCAP from its launch, scoring 97% for adult passenger protection, one of the highest scores in the category.
