Citroen C4 Picasso Lounge

20th September, 2007

Citroen C4 Picasso Lounge

The Citroen C4 Picasso Lounge, which was unveiled last week at the Frankfurt Motor Show takes the Picasso, which normally has five or, as in the Australian version, seven seats and replaces the rear seats with two leather bound electrically operated captain’s chairs. There is luggage space, too.

The seats are upholstered in special black leather with overstitching. The leather on the upper part of the seats features light-coloured lining and chevrons. The cabin also receives piano finish dashboard and door-panel trims.

This top-of-the-range model comes with equipment for comfort and driving pleasure, and special exterior features including:

  • Dark-tinted, laminated side windows that not only add to exterior styling but also provide optimal acoustic comfort and safety
  • A chrome-coloured “Lounge” badge on the rear door,
  • 18-inch polished chrome aluminium alloy wheels,
  • A panoramic sunroof that enhances the brightness of the cabin, especially for back seat passengers.

The C4 Picasso Lounge will be launched in Germany at the of 2007 and in the UK in the first-quarter 2008 fitted with a HDi 100 kW diesel engine matched to the six-speed electronic gearbox system or a six-speed automatic unit.  A decision on any Australian launch has not yet been made. Given the low volume of Citroen sales in Australia, the Next Car team isn't expecting the new model will be added to the Australian Citroen line-up.
