8th May, 2015

  • 2.0-litre petrol engine with automatic transmission standard and 2.0-litre diesel engine with automatic optional
  • First Ford in Australia to feature nine airbags, including Inflatable Rear Seatbelts as standard
  • New integral link rear suspension, stiffer chassis, Electric Power Assisted Steering and new brakes delivering refined driving dynamics and improved stopping distances

With a price* range spanning $32,790* to $49,340* (without options and/or accessories), the all-new Ford Mondeo range has arrived in local dealerships and is available in Ambiente, Trend and Titanium models - each available in hatch and wagon bodystyles.

From a recommended $32,790* for the Ambiente 2.0 EcoBoost, the Mondeo is packed with standard features; among them, 16-inch alloys, SYNC2™ with 8" high-resolution touch screen, Daytime Running Lights, LED tail lamps, fog lamps, heated exterior mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, satellite navigation, dual zone climate control, paddle shifters, 60/40 split rear seats and DAB radio.

The Mondeo will also be the first Ford in Australia to feature nine airbags, including the company’s world-first new Inflatable Rear Seatbelts, which are standard across the Mondeo range. The Inflatable Rear Seatbelts are a first in the mid-size segment for a vehicle under $50,000.

The all-new 2015 Mondeo will also offer 10 advanced technologies, among them Emergency Assistance, Adaptive Cruise Control, adaptive LED headlamps and a Wi-Fi hotspot, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and MyKey®.

The all-new 2015 Mondeo hatch will be available with a TDCi diesel engine that has a combined fuel consumption rating of 5.1 L/100km.

The Mondeo offers an active and passive safety suite that includes Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Anti-Lock Braking (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).

Dynamically, the Mondeo debuts a new integral link rear suspension, stiffer chassis, Electric Power Assisted Steering and new brakes that deliver refined driving dynamics and improved stopping distances.

As well as the technology and dynamic upgrades, the Mondeo improves the refinement with road noise reduced by 3  decibels, 8 per cent less wind noise, and a design supported by enhanced quality and craftsmanship.

For Australia, customers will have the choice of three engine variants.

The Mondeo Ambiente is equipped with a 149kW/345 Nm EcoBoost engine or optional 132 kW/400 Nm TDCi diesel. Trend and Titanium models will offer a high-output 177 kW version of the 2-litre EcoBoost engine or the choice of a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel that delivers 132kW.

All petrol variants will be offered standard with Ford’s SelectShift six-speed transmission, while the TDCi models have Ford’s PowerShift six-speed transmission.
