More bad news from the financially troubled General Motors has surfaced. The company, now in Chapter 11 (a US legal procedure for financially struggling entities), is looking at ways to restructure its operations in an effort to move towards a profitable future. Cutting back production, products and even brands is a strategy being pursued by the company which was once the world's largest vehicle maker (for 78 consecutive years until 2008, when Toyota took the lead).

After four years of working with multiple potential buyers, General Motors has decided to wind-down its medium-duty truck operations.

Production of the Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC Topkick medium duty trucks will cease by 31st July, 2009.
