Holden Captiva Enhanced By Extra Features

12th October, 2007

Holden Captiva MaXX

Holden's popular mid-size SUV, the Captiva, is about to get even better with a range of new standard features that will enhance its position as a highly specified, flexible package that offers outstanding value for money.

The upgraded Captiva will be in showrooms by the end of this month and will boast standard features including curtain airbags on the SX and rear parking sensors on the CX, LX and MaXX.

GM Holden's Marketing Director, Philip Brook, said the feature additions would further strengthen Captiva's market position.

"We're confident these product changes will boost Captiva's showroom appeal even more and provide customers with increased functionality," Mr. Brook said.

"Captiva continues to establish its strong position in the medium SUV segment by offering flexibility, performance, value and a very popular turbo diesel option. We believe this product is clearly challenging traditional SUV thinking and is a point of difference in the segment."

Since its launch in Australia in 2006, Captiva sales have grown to capture a 14 per cent share of the medium SUV segment (year to date), with the new diesel variant currently accounting for 50 per cent of Captiva sales.

Captiva's new features include:

Captiva SX:

  • Leather steering wheel
  • Curtain airbags (previously a $900 option)

Captiva CX:

  • Leather steering wheel
  • Charcoal roof rails
  • Front fog lamps
  • Driver Information Display (including Trip computer, Compass and Outside Temperature)
  • Electronic climate control
  • Air quality sensor
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Chrome exhaust tips

Captiva LX:

  • Satin silver roof rails
  • Chrome door handles
  • Rear Parking Sensors
  • Automatic headlights

Captiva MaXX:

  • Trip computer
  • Chrome exhaust tips
  • Chrome door handles
  • Automatic headlights
  • Rear & Front Parking Sensors
  • Retractable Cargo area cover
  • Rain sensing wipers
  • Centre arm rest in 2nd row with storage box

To accommodate these product changes, the recommended retail price (RRP) of each model will increase by $1,000.

Further enhancements to the Captiva range will be seen in showrooms early November when a new colour range will be introduced.

The new exterior colour range for Captiva SX, CX and LX will be:

  • Galaxy White
  • Black Sapphire*
  • Sterling Silver*
  • Royal Grey*
  • Iceberg Blue*
  • Impulse Blue*
  • Tornade Red*

There will be no change to the Captiva MaXX exterior colour range.
