Honda Australia has announced pricing and specifications for the all-new Civic sedan.

Honda Australia Director Mr. Stephen Collins, said the all-new Civic features advanced technology, improved handling and value for money.

“The iconic Civic nameplate is an Australian favourite. This ninth-generation Civic has undergone significant engineering development, with increased fuel efficiency, smoother handling, improved driving dynamics, a smarter cockpit and Honda’s ECO assist system.”

“We are confident our customers will agree that the Civic is a brilliant package and delivers exceptional value for money. The Civic will be in Honda dealerships in early March,” Mr. Collins said.

The ninth-generation Civic is available in three variants – VTi-L, Sport and Hybrid.

The VTi-L has a 1.8 litre i-VTEC engine delivering 104 kW and 174 Nm of torque while the Sport’s 2 litre i-VTEC engine delivers 114 kW and 190 Nm, with significantly improved fuel efficiency.

The Civic Hybrid now has a 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine coupled with Honda’s upgraded Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, delivering 82 kW and 172 Nm. The improved IMA system delivers more power under hard acceleration. It recharges the new lithium-ion battery through the engine as well as using regenerated brake energy.

Safety is paramount, with the Civic achieving a five-star ANCAP safety rating, the highest available. Civic has next-generation Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), six airbags, ABS with EBD, Honda’s G-Con technology and new for this ninth-generation, Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering.

Increased use of high tensile steel in the Civic’s body delivers exceptional ride and handling. The all-new Honda Civic is said to be a joy to drive, with standard features across the range including an intelligent multi-information display, automatic climate control, cruise control, Honda’s unique ECON Mode, integrated Bluetooth with audio streaming, iPod connectivity and steering wheel-mounted controls.

The sleek and stylish Civic Sport gains leather appointed seats, an electric sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic front wipers.
