The first model with an engine from Honda’s new Earth Dreams Technology
series is the UK-manufactured Honda Civic Hatch Diesel.
The 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine is the first diesel in Honda Australia’s range, launching in April this year.
The Civic Hatch DTi-S delivers 88kW and 300Nm of torque; and with fuel economy of 4 litres per 100 kilometres and CO2
emissions of just 105g/km it offers an impressive balance of fuel economy with exceptional performance.
Honda Australia Director and General Manager Sales and Marketing, Mr. Stephen Collins, said the introduction of the
DTi-S is an exciting and welcome addition to the Civic Hatch range.

The European-built DTi-S is an addition to the existing Civic Hatch line-up. Large Project Leader, Suehiro Hasshi said
developing the car was all about smart, pure engineering. “Our motivation has been to make many small detail
improvements that together make a major difference. That is the challenge and the beauty of the Earth Dreams Technology
philosophy.”
The new 1.6 litre engine is light, with individual components redesigned to minimise weight and size. A newly designed
lightweight and compact six-speed manual transmission delivers class-leading transmission efficiency, a smooth and
accurate feel when changing gears and a new reverse system which delivers improved operation load and quietness.
The Civic Hatch DTi-S is equipped with loads of features such as Honda’s Magic seats, a tyre deflation warning system,
daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto stop/idle stop, Hill Start Assist, auto headlights and wipers,
dual-zone climate control, ECON Mode, Intelligent Multi-Information Display and a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
The Civic Hatch DTi-S is priced at the Manufacturer’s List Price* (MLP*) of $26,990*.
