Hyundai Motor Company Australia will extend the ix35 range with the addition of the 2.0-litre R-series CRDi engine to the feature-packed SE (Special Edition) line-up.

Currently Australia's top-selling small SUV, the Hyundai ix35 has always been a popular choice with customers looking to combine performance and good looks in a compact, versatile lifestyle vehicle. Perfectly complimenting the existing 2WD SE model, the AWD diesel variant will offer drivers seeking economy and power a viable alternative while retaining the raft of comfort and convenience features that make the ix35 a premium offering.

The 2.0L R-series CRDi turbo engine is one of the most powerful diesel engines in its class with 135kW @ 4,000 rpm while delivering 392Nm @ 1,800-2,500 rpm, providing sporty acceleration and agility with combined fuel economy rating of just 7.5 L/100km.

A raft of additional features are instantly recognisable to the Euro-sourced SE models, including a unique front bumper treatment with in-set fog lamps, projector headlamps with dusk sensors, power folding side mirrors, solar control glass with rear privacy tint and 17" alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin the ix35 SE models offer further comfort enhancements for driver and passengers including; glove box cooling, front and rear seat heating and full leather/leatherette trim (may contain elements of leather and/or fake leather) including seats, steering wheel, and gear shift knob.

The ix35 SE ensures you are totally wired for sound with a multimedia package including; 5" touch screen, AM/FM radio with integrated Bluetooth® audio streaming with hands free, six-speakers including tweeters, AUX & USB audio input with iPod® compatibility, and a MP3/WMA/CD player.

The ix35 SE achieves the highest 5-star ANCAP safety rating and now offers even more convenience and peace-of-mind with the inclusion of a rear-view camera displayed in the electro-chromatic rear-view mirror.

Standard safety features of the ix35 SE include; six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Downhill Brake Control (DBC), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM).
