Jaguar X-TYPE (Diesel) from the 2006 model year to 2010 model year are subject to a recall. Identifying features for the relevant models are in the VIN range: E65409 to J63579. The recall involves 130 units in Australia.

What are the hazards? Vehicle speed cannot be reduced through the activation of the cruise control speed adjustment wheel. Turning the ignition off will cancel the cruise control function.

What are the defects? Should an error with certain interfacing systems be detected, the cruise control system will be disabled and an error message displayed on the instrument cluster. Should one of these error states occur whilst the cruise control is engaged, it is not possible to cancel cruise control using the cruise control cancel button, brake pedal operation or change of gear.

Owners of affected vehicles will be advised by correspondence (where possible). Otherwise owners are should contact an authorised Jaguar dealership for an update to the engine management controller software.
