Lexus Australia has boosted the IS model line-up with the introduction of the powerful new IS 350 sedan.

Slotting between the IS 250 and IS F variants, the new IS 350 will deliver 233 kW of power and 378 Nm of torque. The launch of IS 350 coincides with new styling and features available across the IS sedan range - including an aggressive frontal treatment and new wheel and tyre package, along with new safety and comfort refinements.

The IS 350 also debuts Lexus' F Sport logo, with F Sport models featuring unique sports-tuned suspension, wheels, spoilers, unique interior and exterior features and F Sport badging.

Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb indicated IS 350 would be a strong addition to the Lexus range and bring with it increased competition to the luxury vehicle market. "IS line is one of Lexus' most popular ranges of vehicles, and IS 350 will add to the line's appeal. IS 350 is an outstanding vehicle - it leads its competitors on power, performance, specification, price and value. Much like our first vehicle - the LS 400 - IS 350 will result in customers questioning why they'd pay 20 to 30 thousand dollars more for a similarly powered vehicle from our competitors. With IS 350's powertrain, list of standard features and segment-leading price, IS 350 will definitely give our competitors a run for their money" he said.

The addition of the IS 350 means the Lexus IS line will now feature 10 models, with the choice of three engines, three transmissions and two body styles. The IS line consists of IS 250, IS 250C (hard-top coupe/convertible), IS 350 and IS F.

Lexus offers IS 250, IS 250C and IS 350 with the choice of three equipment grade levels - all with dual VVT-i Quad Cam V6 engines and six-speed sequential-shift transmission.

The IS 250 and IS 350 are offered in Prestige, F Sport and Sports Luxury model grades.

The F Sport is a new grade level in the IS sedan range - and features a number of performance upgrades.

The IS 250C is offered in Prestige, Sports and Sports Luxury model grades.

Continuing at the top-of-the-range is the IS F, which features a five-litre dual VVT-i Quad Cam V8 engine and eight-speed sequential transmission.

The new Lexus IS 350 offers three model grades

The new Lexus IS 350 brings three equipment grade levels, all with a 223 kW Quad Cam V6 engine, a six-speed sequential-shift transmission and satellite navigation as standard.

The three equipment grades, in ascending order, are: Prestige, F Sport and Sports Luxury.

All three grades are highly specified and include Lexus' Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management (VDIM), eight SRS airbags, powerful brake package, HID head lamps with cleaners, LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) and a sequential six-speed transmission with paddle shift.

The IS 350 Prestige has split five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels*, reversing camera with rear guide assist, touch-screen satellite navigation with BluetoothTM^ connectivity, multi-information display, power-adjustable front seats, smooth leather-accented seat trim and front seat heaters. It also has Lexus premium 13-speaker audio system with 6-CD multi-changer.

The IS 350 F Sport has a unique suspension calibration and 18-inch alloy wheels with five close-paired spokes, as well as IS F-style rear spoiler and radiator grille upper and lower. Its additional equipment over and above Prestige includes IS F-style sport seats with drivers' memory function, F Sport steering wheel and gear shift lever, sports pedals and unique F Sport badging. The F Sport model also has power tilt and telescopic steering column adjustment (in lieu of manual adjustment), auto-retract and self-dimming exterior mirrors, rain-sensing windscreen wipers and Mark Levinson 14-speaker premium audio system.

The Sports Luxury model has five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels and moonroof. It also has, over and above Prestige model, Active Cruise Control, Lexus Pre-Collision safety System (PCS) with newly adopted Pre-Collision Braking (PCB), rain-sensing windscreen wipers, front and rear clearance sonar, and self-dimming and heated exterior mirrors. Inside, the IS 350 Sports Luxury has the added features (over Prestige) of ventilated and heated front seats, semi-aniline leather-accented seat trim, Smart key card, self-dimming (electro-chromatic) interior rear-view mirror, driver's seat memory function, woodgrain-look trim and 14-speaker premium audio system.

Options:

The IS 350 Prestige has the combined option of moonroof and semi-aniline leather-accented seat trim.

The IS 350 F Sport has the option of a moonroof.

The IS 350 Sports Luxury has a moonroof as standard equipment, with the option to delete it.

Lexus IS 350 brings competitive pricing to segment

Lexus Australia has launched its new IS 350 range with an aggressive pricing strategy - undercutting its direct competitors by tens of thousand of dollars.

The three IS 350 models have arrived on the market priced from a sharp $64,800* - $20,000-$30,000 less than the range's direct rivals.

All IS 350 models will feature a high-output 233 kW, 3.5-litre V6 teamed to a powerful brake package and six-speed sequential transmission. Lexus' value advantage widens when standard specification and features are taken into account. Standard luxuries on IS 350 include satellite navigation, heated seats, reversing camera, HID headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps and metallic paint across all models.

Lexus' popular Prestige model opens the IS 350 range at $64,800*.

The dedicated F Sport model - new to the IS range - features a number of performance and visual enhancements. The IS 350 F Sport will carry a manufacturer's list price of $71,800*.

The IS 350 Sports Luxury at $81,300* builds on both the Prestige and F Sport models.

Lexus Australia chief executive Tony Cramb said that Lexus IS 350 range gives Lexus leadership in the high-output six-cylinder luxury market. "IS 350 pricing is critical for Lexus - it has to be realistic, it has to achieve a position of leadership, and it has to bring new competition to the luxury sedan segment," he said. "It reaffirms Lexus' long-held value philosophy: namely, just because you can charge a premium for luxury vehicles, it doesn't mean you have to do so," Mr Cramb said. "The performance and specification of IS 350 is enough to entice customers, but when you combine that with the unprecedented pricing, the IS 350 is in fact irresistible. IS 350 really throws down a challenge to Lexus' rivals," said Mr Cramb.
