Maserati recalls

Previous recalls for the Quattroporte and Granturismo have occurred twice in 2009, with the Quattroporte also having a recall in 2007. Now it's time for more recalls for Maserati.

Maserati Quattroporte and Maserati Granturismo

Product description: 2009 model year Quattroporte and Granturismo
Vehicles involved: 35
Identified hazard/s: Continued use of vehicles equipped with non-conforming rear tie-rods, depending on road conditions, may lead to damage of the rear tie-rod.
Defect/s: Incorrect machining of rear tie-rods.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by letter (where possible). Otherwise owners are advised to contact an authorised Maserati dealer for replacement of both rear tie-rods.

Maserati Granturismo

Product description: Granturismo
Vehicles involved: 2
Identified hazard/s: Use of vehicles equipped with non-conforming gearbox may lead to damage of the gearbox. This allows potential for the rear wheels to lock and may lead to loss of control of the vehicle.
Defect/s: The gearbox may not be in conformance.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by letter (where possible). Otherwise owners are advised to contact an authorised Maserati dealer for rectification of the defect.
