Maserati is launching the limited edition Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline locally.

There are two variants of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline, both fitted with the 4.7 litre 338 kW V8 engine and offered with a choice of a six speed automatic gearbox, fitted for the first time with the aggressive MC Auto Shift package, or the MC Shift robotised manual which, uniquely, is fitted in a different position to the automatic gearbox, using a rear transaxle position.

Both gearboxes provide the performance expected of Maserati with the MC Shift robotised manual transmission offering the exhilaration of changing gears in exactly the same manner as that in the racing car’s sequential transmission.

Not to be outdone, the automatic version of the GranTurismo uses one of the most aggressive shift pattens of any automatic gearbox, fully maximising the potency of the V8 engine right to the redline. It also has the same exhaust outlets and bypass flaps in the exhaust system to enable it to match the MC Shift version sound for sound, volume for volume when it comes to Maserati’s aural experience.

With the six speed automatic gearbox, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline manages 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds (Jaguar XKR-S does it in 4.4 seconds), with the sequential shift gearbox snipping 0.1 second off the 0-100 km/h dash to achieve 4.7 seconds.

More than just a change of gearbox, the MC Shift robotised version of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline shares its entire driveline, a rear mounted transaxle, with the racing version of the GranTurismo, providing a greater weight bias to the rear and further sharpening turn-in and responsiveness to driver inputs. MC Shift equipped Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline also benefits from a unique MC suspension set up specifically developed for the MC Shift variant of the GranTurismo.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline brings together styling features that were only available on the road-racer track day special, the GranTurismo MC Stradale.

Designed for the racing GranTurismo, the lightweight aluminpum bonnet also, with additional vents heat dissipation, provides a clear link to the race version of the GranTurismo and, in the GranTurismo MC Sportline is seen for the first time on the four seat Maserati coupe.

The same is true of the 20 inch MSC Design alloy wheels, with darkened headlights completes the aggressive exterior chances for the GranTurismo MC Sportline.

Inside the Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline benefits from the premium Poltrona Frau leather using a design specially commissioned and made by hand to mark the centenary of Maserati. In addition front seats use carbon fibre backs, which has the dual benefit of saving weight and providing additional leg room to rear seat passengers.

The MC Shift version is also equipped with a wealth of carbon fibre trim inside and out. Carbon fibre is used for the rear lip spoiler, the door mirrors, door handles and front splitter. Inside there is carbon fibre for the gearbox paddles, the instrument surround, the dashboard, and door panels. The pedals finished in aluminium with the MC Maserati Corse logo.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Sportline has a manufacturer's list price* of $295,000* with the six speed automatic gearbox and $319,000* with the six speed sequential gearbox (excludes statutory charges, dealer costs and delivery).

NOTE:

* Manufacturer's List Price (MLP) excludes dealer delivery fees and the numerous statutory charges (commonly known as on-road costs). Additionally, please note that all prices, fees and charges are subject to change without notice, as are the specifications.
