8th November, 2012

Approximately 3,500 Mazda BT-50 dual cab utilities are being recalled in Australia due to a faulty latch fitted to the back seat.

An incorrectly engaged rear seatback latch may cause the rear seatback to fall forward and may pose a safety hazard to occupants. Until the safety recall service is completed, affected vehicles should not be operated with a rearward facing child seat.

Mazda dealers will replace the link between the rear seatback release strap and the rear seatback locking mechanism with a revised component, free of charge. Relevant owners should contact their Mazda dealer as soon as possible.
