Silverstone, in the United Kingdom, with its legendary race track will be next year’s setting for the largest Mini enthusiasts event ever. It will celebrate the introduction, by BMC, of the original Austin and Morris Mini ..... yes, it's a 50th birthday for the popular little British car that is still revered today!

Following Misano in Italy and Zandvoort in the Netherlands, Mini will celebrate the third Mini United Festival from 22nd-24th May, 2009, in the land of its origin.

Mini enthusiasts, many of whom will be travelling in their own cars from countries all over the world, can look forward to the unique mixture of an exciting show programme, motor sport action and a music festival.

In addition to music show acts, stunt shows, go-karting, lounge areas and DJs, the Mini 'community' will also be able to experience a huge exhibition which will take Mini enthusiasts through the history of the brand.

The Mini Challenge will also be part of the festival again, moving into its third and fourth heat in front of an international audience.

Also the Mini Seven Racing Club will increase the excitement on the course by organising a race with 50 classic Mini race cars.

In addition, it will be possible for people to drive a few laps on the race track, either alone or with a Mini Challenge driver.

There will be kiosks and restaurants providing food and drink. And for those looking for children's entertainment, the Kids' Area will once again provide plenty of activities, from bobby-car racing and climbing to face-painting.
