The Mini Paceman will be launched in Australia with the Cooper and Cooper
S models, priced from $35,900* and $44,100* respectively.
Mini Australia General Manager, Kai Bruesewitz said the Mini Paceman exudes all the smile-inducing characteristics
synonymous with the Mini badge.
“Every Mini model has its own individual personality yet each is unmistakable as a member of the Mini family,”
he said.
“This is true of the Paceman which combines dynamic performance and agility with a raised driving position and
lounge like interior complete with individual seating for each of the 4 possible occupants, all wrapped up in Coupé
body,” said Mr Bruesewitz.
The fresh and individual 'character' of the new Mini Paceman is instantly evident from any angle. The Mini Paceman
transforms the compact SUV platform, from the Mini Countryman, towards the concept of a Coupé. The instant standout
feature of the Mini Paceman is the Coupé silhouette incorporating a strong wedge shape formed by the downward-sloping
roof line and the steadily rising shoulder line. This engaging character is continued in the interior, squarely designed
as a 4 seater, the inside incorporates new design elements and functional components to provide a lounge like
atmosphere.
Both the Mini Cooper Paceman and Cooper S Paceman are powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine featuring fully variable
valve management which, in standard guise, is matched to a 6 Speed manual gearbox.

In the Mini Cooper Paceman this engine develops 90kW of power with 160 Nm of torque which propels this charismatic
Mini from 0-100 km/h in a time of 10.4 seconds and manages, at combined cycle test standard, fuel consumption of 6.5
l/100 km’s and emitting 152 g/km of CO2.
In the Mini Cooper S Paceman the engine joins forces with a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection to generate
maximum output of 135 kW with peak torque of 240 Nm which is on tap from as low as 1,600 rpm. An overboost function is at
the driver’s disposal to provide particularly powerful bursts of acceleration, increasing torque to as much as 260 Nm for
a short time between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. All of which enables the Mini Cooper S Paceman to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in
7.5 on the way to a top speed (where legal) of 217 km/h. Average fuel economy in the EU test cycle stands at 6.6 l/100
km and CO2 emissions are 154 grammes per kilometre.
When selected with the optional 6-speed automatic transmission the sprint to 100 km/h takes a marginally longer 11.5
seconds for the Mini Cooper Paceman or 7.8 seconds for the Cooper S model, whilst the fuel consumption and emissions
also increase slightly to 7.6 l/100 km/h and 177 g/km and 7.5 l/100 km and 175 g/km respectively.
The Mini Paceman borrows more than just its platform from its Countryman stable mate, as it shares the same standard
specification for the respective models albeit with a couple of additions. As such the Mini Cooper Paceman gets Dynamic
Stability Control, 16” 5-Star single spoke alloys, front and rear fog lights, automatic headlights with rain sensing
wipers, interior lights package, Sports leather multi-function steering wheel, Chrome Line interior and Bluetooth mobile
phone preparation with USB interface.
Above and beyond this, the Mini Cooper S Paceman also receives Dynamic Traction Control, Sport Button, 17” 5-Hole
black star alloy wheels, clear indicator lenses and stainless steel trim for the pedals and footrest. Additionally,
standard kit for both models includes Sports seats and Sports suspension which further enhances the dynamic nature of
Mini Paceman.
The colour palette includes 8 colours ranging from the vibrant Blazing Red to Brilliant Copper metallic or the new
Starlight Blue metallic and in most cases can be optioned with the roof and mirror caps in black or white for contrast,
alternatively there is the option to leave it in the body colour.
“Mini now has 7 products on offer, all delivering the pure Mini ownership enjoyment but each in a individual way
that meet an ever broadening range of customer needs” said Mr Bruesewitz.
