Mini Australia has announced pricing for the Mini Roadster starting from
$45,500* for the Cooper S model and $55,100* for the range-topping John Cooper Works variant. Pricing for the drop-tops
are $2,510 and $2,500 over their respective Coupé variants.
Mini Australia General Manager, Kai Bruesewitz said the Mini Roadster and Mini Coupe are unique characters with
distinct appeal.
“Although created from the same Mini DNA, these hot twins take Go-Kart driving thrills to a whole new level,”
said Mr Bruesewitz.
With maximum torque of 240 Nm available from as low down as 1,600 rpm (increasing to 260 Nm when using overboost
function) and a power output of 135 kW, the 1.6-litre power plant in the Cooper S Roadster delivers an exhilarating
motoring experience.

Equipped with technology such as TwinTurbo, direct injection and a fully variable valve control system, thrust is
delivered efficiently with a fuel consumption figure of 6.4 l/100 km (combined cycle) and CO2 emissions of 149 grammes
per kilometre.
The Cooper S Roadster takes 7.0 seconds to do the 0-100 km/h sprint.
Exhilaration steps up a gear with the John Cooper Works (JCW) variant of the Mini Roadster. With numerous technical
features drawn directly from motor sport development including modifications to the cylinder head, pistons, crankshaft,
turbo and exhaust system, the JCW engine delivers 155 kW at 6,000 rpm and torque figures of 260 Nm from 1,850 – 5,600
rpm. Overboost increases this to 280 Nm at 2,000 to 5,100 rpm.
The Mini Roadster JCW offers performance figures of 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds with a combined fuel consumption of
7.3 litres/100 km and CO2 emissions of 169 grammes per kilometre.
The Roadster boasts the same distinct ‘three-box’ design as the Coupe. Adhering to good British roadster tradition,
the roof is cloth and always in black with a manual opening and closing functionality.
Both the Mini Coupé and Roadster feature an automatic rear spoiler which reduces lifting forces and increases the
stability of the car at high speeds. It opens automatically when the speed exceeds 80 km/h and retracts when the speed
falls below 60 km/h. It can also be operated manually with a switch in the overhead control panel.
The Mini Roadster offers 240 litres of luggage space with numerous alternative places to store items including an
area behind the front seats, lockable glove box, door pockets and nets of the back of the seats.

The Mini Coupé and Roadster are packed with standard features, delivering exceptional customer value. Highlights
across the two models include the active rear spoiler, 17” light alloy rims, park distance control, Xenon headlights,
sport leather steering wheel, sports seats, automatic air conditioning, Mini Radio Boost CD and Bluetooth.
Safety features include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) four airbags, crash sensor,
Electronic Braking Force Distribution Control, twin horns, 3-point seat belts and a run-flat indicator.
Over and above the standard equipment featured on the Cooper S, the JCW variants receive 17" Cross Spoke Challenge
wheels, the John Cooper Works aerodynamic kit, Sport suspension, Sport stripes and a Harmon kardon HiFi system.
Both the new Mini Coupe and Roadster will arrive in Australian showrooms in late February 2012.
