2nd September, 2014

Mitsubishi Motors continues to sharpen the value of its Lancer small car range with the introduction of new pricing, features and model structure for the 2015 model year.

Prices* across all models in the Lancer line-up – including the iconic Lancer Evolution – have been rolled back with Lancer now available from $18,990* for the ES Sport sedan manual.

The entry level Lancer ES Sport sedan offers a comprehensive features list with 110kW 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine, four-wheel independent suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control air-conditioning, Bluetooth hands free and audio streaming with voice control, seven airbags including front, side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags, and sports body kit with rear spoiler and side body skirts among its standard equipment.

With a price* starting from $20,990*, Lancer LS sedan has 6.1-inch full colour touch screen, reversing camera, Smart Key technology, and leather facing seats, heated front seats and power adjustable driver’s seat.

Replacing the Lancer VRX sedan is the new XLS, which starts from $26,490*. Offering outstanding value, it features a 125kW 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine, 9-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system, 7-inch full colour touch screen with 3D navigation mapping and SD card input, automatic rain sensing wipers, electro-chromatic rear view mirror, dusk sensing headlamps, electric foldable door mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels and sports suspension.

Introduced in April, the sports-oriented Lancer GSR Sportback is powered by a 125kW 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine and features 18-inch alloy wheels, side air dams, rear sports spoiler, sports-style front seats and sports pedals. It also has reversing camera, voice activated Bluetooth with audio streaming, climate control air-conditioning, privacy glass, Smart Key, rain sensing wipers, dusk sensing lamps, 6.1-inch full colour touch screen with iPod compatibility and rear view camera interface. Lancer GSR Sportback is available from $21,990*.

Automatic transmission is a $2,000* option across ES, LS and XLS sedan and GSR Sportback models.

Meanwhile, pricing for Mitsubishi’s rally-bred MY15 Evolution range has been revised. The Lancer EVO is $52,990* with manual transmission and $58,990* for the MR SST auto, making it one of the best value high performance offerings on the Australian market.

In the latest revision, the Lancer range is distinguished by the addition of door mirrors with indicator lamp, ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) and new door trims across the range.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Executive Director of Marketing Tony Principe said Lancer has been incrementally improved with interior and exterior features throughout 2014, increasing Lancer’s visual appeal across every variant in the range.

“Lancer is already well known for its stylish looks, reliability and performance, so we’re focussing on refining the value of what remains an attractive small car range,” he said.

“In April, we introduced two new variants and added the stylish Ralliart fascia to every model in the Lancer line-up.”

“And we’re continuing to improve the value proposition by honing recommended retail prices and adding new features to boost Lancer’s appearance and safety.”

Mitsubishi’s 2015 model year Lancer range has a 5 year/100,000km New Vehicle Warranty and is now available at Mitsubishi dealerships nationally.
