  • New entry level priced* from $11,490*
  • Hatch upgraded with new NVH package
  • Cruise control added to Mirage hatch LS

Mitsubishi Motors has boosted the appeal of its popular Mirage hatch with new standard features and pricing*.

Starting from a low $11,490*, the new 2015 model year Mirage hatch range is now even better value, while continuing to offer a high level of standard specification, low running costs and comprehensive safety credentials.

The 2015 hatch range now mirrors the Mirage sedan line-up introduced by Mitsubishi Motors Australia in July, offering two variants – the entry level ES and top spec LS.

In addition to NVH upgrades, Mitsubishi has added new features for 2015 including Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), all black interior trim and short antenna, while LS models gain cruise control and privacy glass.

Despite its sharp pricing, the Mirage hatch still delivers strong peace of mind with its full five-year/100,000 kilometre New Car Warranty, four-year Capped Price Servicing, Roadside Assist and comprehensive safety package including five star ANCAP safety rating, six airbags, Active Stability Control and ABS with EBD.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Executive Director of Marketing Tony Principe said the Mirage offers an unbeatable mix of style, value and safety.

“Mirage has been a great success story for Mitsubishi – its combination of great features, good looks, fuel efficiency, strong safety credentials and low running costs make it a very attractive car for value-conscious buyers,” he said.

“Using the same approach successfully applied to 2015 model year Lancer, ASX, Outlander and Pajero earlier this year, we’ve simplified the Mirage line-up and pricing structure, while adding new features and upgrading its appearance and overall refinement.”

“With cruise control and privacy glass now standard on LS, new interior trim and NVH improvements across the range, the 2015 Mirage hatch is now even better value.”

Technical details

Like the Mirage sedan, Mirage hatch is upgraded with a number of technical improvements to increase overall refinement and performance.

Mitsubishi has fitted Mirage with additional sound insulation in the front and rear floor areas, A pillar, dash panel and front cowl top to promote quiet cabin acoustics.

Further improvements have been made with a new engine mounting system that minimises engine noise and vibration. It’s comprised of a hydraulic insulator and high rigidity, lightweight cast aluminium bracket, while the transmission mount uses a lightweight and rigid cast steel bracket, which also helps to reduce noise and vibration. The engine itself is also quieter thanks to newly developed loss reduction technology.

Mirage hatch also gains Mitsubishi Motors’ Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) feature, which flashes the hazard warning lights under heavy braking to alert vehicles approaching from behind.
