18th February, 2013
- The feisty Corsa OPC priced from $28,990*
- Opel's hottest Astra yet, the Astra OPC priced from $42,990*
- Opel's most powerful car ever, the Insignia OPC priced from $59,990*
Pricing has been set for the newest range of performance cars to arrive in Australia and with prices starting from
$28,990* for the Opel Corsa OPC, from $42,990* for the Astra OPC, and from $59,990* for the Insignia OPC, Opel’s OPC
range offers Australian motorists plenty of bang for their buck.
The new models will be available from late-February (Astra OPC and Insignia OPC) and April (Corsa OPC) at all Opel
dealerships nationally.
Opel Australia’s Managing Director, Bill Mott said the OPC range of vehicles are the ultimate expression of pure
passion, power and outstanding design.
“The OPC brand has long been the performance halo for Opel and given Australia’s long affinity with and love for
performance vehicles, bringing these models to Australia was a natural fit.”
“These are great looking cars with the performance and price to match. All of our OPC models offer outstanding
value with an extensive list of standard equipment making our offer a compelling proposition for our customers.”
“Since confirmation of our model line-up, customer enquiry regarding OPC models at our dealerships has been strong.
The dealers are very excited to get these cars into showrooms and out on the road,” Mr Mott said.
Corsa OPC
The three-door sports hatch is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo engine paired with Opel’s six-speed manual transmission
providing 141kW power and 260Nm of torque with overboost. Underneath the Corsa OPC carries a unique lowered OPC sports
chassis with McPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension. Standard on the Corsa OPC are 17-inch, alloy wheels
and Recaro® front seats.
The Corsa OPC carries a distinctive sporty exterior with a number of OPC exclusive elements including, heated body
coloured mirrors, body kit, rear roof spoiler and a centrally mounted chrome exhaust tip.
Astra OPC
Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct injection engine, the Astra OPC achieves a power output of up to 206 kW
and maximum torque of 400Nm, establishing a new European benchmark. Never before has an Astra been so fast, sprinting
from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds.
The Astra OPC comes with a long list of standard features including: Opel’s FlexRide adaptive chassis system, 19-inch
alloy wheels, dual front, front side and curtain airbags, premium Nappa leather front sports bucket seats with
electrically adjustable bolsters, seat heating, a manually extendable front seat cushion and electric lumbar adjustment,
Bluetooth® connectivity with voice recognition, infotainment system complete with a seven-inch colour information
display, satellite navigation, iPod® connectivity, SD card reader and seven premium audio speakers.
Insignia OPC
The most powerful production vehicle Opel has ever made, the Insignia OPC sedan is powered by Opel’s advanced
2.8-litre V6 Turbo ECOTEC engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, producing 239kW of power and 435Nm of
torque.
The model will be the first Opel in Australia to come with Opel’s Adaptive 4X4 technology, using a bespoke chassis
developed through an extensive test programme at the gruelling Nürburgring circuit in Germany. The HiPerStrut system is
unique to the Insignia OPC and serves two primary functions to reduce torque-steer, but also to maintain negative camber
during cornering, thereby improving ultimate grip levels in wet or dry conditions.
Complementing these features are standard 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch lightweight forged alloys are a cost option),
revised bushing and damper settings on both axles, and Brembo® brakes callipers with colour-keyed callipers and
vented/cross-drilled disc brakes on the front axle.
The highly-specified Opel Insignia OPC comes with a long list of standard features including: AGR certified Recaro®
performance bucket front seats, perforated Siena leather appointed trim, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime running
lamps, Opel’s premium adaptive forward lighting package (AFL+), and the Navi900 premium audio system with seven premium
audio speakers and seven-inch colour screen.

OPC PowerApp
Opel is giving car enthusiasts the chance to receive selected, performance-related data by offering Apple iPhone® and
iPad® users the OPC PowerApp which is available for download for 99 cents from Apple’s Australian App Store®.
When combined with the optional dealer-fitted smart phone controller, the OPC PowerApp opens up a whole new world to
driving enthusiasts who want the latest technology.
Opel shares its passion for technology with its customers by making preselected data from the CAN bus (Controller Area
Network) directly available on an iPhone where it can be displayed or analysed further. The CAN bus is the central system
that unifies and connects all the electronic control units in the vehicle.
The fun offered by the OPC PowerApp does not just end when the engine is switched off. Not only are up to sixty
different data, including engine boost pressure, throttle position, lateral acceleration or engine torque, readily
available in real-time on the iPhone but they can also be stored and later shared with friends.
In order to get the most out of the wealth of functions offered by the OPC PowerApp a black box or smart phone
controller that can be ordered by the dealership and is installed behind the interior panels. The module is directly
connected to the CAN-bus of the vehicle and transmits its data via Wi-Fi with a frequency of 30 Hertz to the iPhone which
is equivalent to real time.
