21st March, 2012

The new SsangYong Actyon Sports Ute range has undergone a make-over inside and out, with the vehicle now featuring a totally new style.

The all-new, more powerful 2.0-Litre e-XDi200 Active Diesel engine has a wide torque band with maximum torque available between 1,500 – 2,800 rpm. The turbo-diesel engine, first released on the compact SsangYong Korando, has an output of 114 kw, a 14 kw increase on the previous model.

The new Actyon Sports is available in three derivatives – the entry-level Tradie, mid-range SX and top of the range SPR. The Tradie and SX models are available in 2WD or 4WD versions with a choice of the new 6-speed manual transmission or the redesigned 6-speed automatic transmission. The SPR is available as a 4WD automatic only.

Fuel economy and emissions have improved across the range. The 2WD Tradie and SX models offer 7.3 L/100 km combined city/highway driving for the manual, while the 4WD manual option for the Tradie and SX sips 7.4 L/100 km. The automatic 2WD offers 7.6 L/100 km while the SPR offers 7.9 L/100 km.

The range also features Bluetooth functionality as standard, accessible from steering wheel controls, which can be used for phone calls and wireless music streaming from a compatible phone or device.

The new SsangYong Actyon Sports, with its new look, is now longer, wider and taller than ever before.

Inside the cabin, the redesigned dashboard panel features a new instrument cluster with LED lighting and trip computer to measure time driven, distance to empty, average fuel consumption and distance travelled. Noise Vibration Technology (NVT) makes the cabin of the vehicle quieter than the previous model. NVT includes an engine cover and a dashboard panel with double-layer construction and sound proofing material ensuring a quieter ride at a range of speeds. Slanted engine mounts optimise powertrain movement while minimising vibrations.

Other items include: air conditioning, power steering, remote keyless entry, USB and AUX port, multifunction trip computer, power windows including a one-touch anti-trap safety feature on the driver’s side, electronically heated side mirrors and front windscreen, variable speed intermittent wipers, one-touch windscreen wash function, CD/MP3 player with four speakers, audio switches on steering wheel, sunglasses holder, drink holder, floor mats, door scuff plate, power outlets; and for the tray, a liner to protect the vehicle as well as onboard cargo.

Alloy wheels, cruise control, leather bound steering wheel, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) are standard on SX and SPR models.

The SPR model comes with a host of equipment designed for the occupants. These include: leather seating throughout, climate control, rear park assist sensors, stylish 18 inch alloys, electronically adjustable front seats, folding side mirrors, electronic dimming rear-view mirror, auto wipers and auto headlights, and headlamp levelling device.

A new addition to the SPR is the option of a factory fitted electronic sunroof.

The Actyon Sports SX and SPR are available in two new colours; Indian Red and Fijian Blue, in addition to the existing Space Black, Fine Silver and Grand White. The Tradie model is available in Fine Silver and Grand White.

The new SsangYong Actyon Sports dual cab ute has a three year/100,000 km warranty (whichever comes first), along with 24/7 roadside assistance for the first three years of ownership.
