Suzuki has launched an upgraded version of its innovative SX4 2.0-litre small car and celebrated the event with sharp new pricing across the range.

Launched to critical acclaim in 2007 the SX4 now shares a common exterior look across its 2WD and AWD hatch range.

The new 2WD SX4 hatch now shares the same tough looking wheel arches, while roof rails are now included as standard equipment.

The range topping S model mirrors its AWD sibling, with new wheel arches. Both versions also boast the same stylish 16-inch alloy wheels.

The S model adds a host of creature comforts as standard, including keyless start, cruise control, digital climate control air-conditioning, fog lamps, leather steering wheel, rear roof spoiler and a 9-speaker premium audio system.

All versions come standard with one of the most powerful naturally aspirated petrol engines in its class. Matched to either a six-speed manual or the optional continuously variable transmission (CVT), the SX4 2.0-litre is one of the most efficient cars in the class with the six-speed manual returning a fuel economy figure of just 7.3 L/100 km.

All models come standard with six airbags and ESC stability control and have earned a high four-star crash rating.

The SX4 was the basis for Suzuki’s assault on the World Rally Championship, where its superb handling made it a consistent points scorer in the automotive world’s toughest proving ground.

Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers welcomed the upgrade.

“Our SX4 customers are among our most satisfied and the word continues to spread about the value for money that comes with owning a Suzuki”.

“Now, with the standardisation of several key features, we are able to offer even better value for the new SX4 range.”

Devers said a special introductory price would be offered for the entry level SX4, with the manual version available for just $19,990 drive-away.

“There has never been a better opportunity to get behind the wheel of a new SX4, and become another satisfied member of the Suzuki family.”
