With the Australian release of the new Volvo V40 hatchback imminent, Volvo Car Australia has announced the prices* of their prize new model.

“Combined with an incredibly sharp opening price point, the all-new Volvo V40 is a car that offers extraordinary value for money, class-leading safety attributes, world-first innovations, stunning design and a truly dynamic drive. All up, it is an extremely compelling offering to potential customers purchasing in this segment.” said Matt Braid, Managing Director, Volvo Car Australia.

Astonishingly, the all-new Volvo V40 will include free scheduled servicing for three years/60,000 kms as a standard feature of the car.

“The world’s most advanced hatchback also comes with peace of mind maintenance included in the price,” Matt Braid indicated.

The model mix has three trim levels (Kinetic, Luxury and R-Design), five engine choices and two transmissions.

Petrol engine choices for the new V40 are between a 2-litre 5-cylinder (132kW/300Nm) and 2.5-litre 5-cylinder (187kW/360Nm) variants. Both units are offered with automatic transmission only.

Diesel-fuelled choices are between a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder (84kW/270Nm) unit and a 2-litre 5-cylinder (130kW/400Nm) unit. Both come with manual transmission, whilst the 2-litre can be matched with an automatic transmission.

An appealing option is the Driver Support Pack ($5,000) which includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Collision Warning and Full Auto Brake (CWAB); Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA); Driver Alert System (which includes Active High Beam, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Aid, Lane Departure Warning, and Road Sign Information); and Park Assist Pilot.

Stop/start engine technology and regenerative charging is standard on all model variants.
