Volkswagen will expand its Touareg range with the introduction of the Touareg V8 TDI R-Line with 4MOTION four-wheel drive. The new V8 TDI R-Line offers a more dynamic exterior look with unique R-Line Design bumpers, oval tailpipes and is equipped with a powerful yet efficient 4.2-litre V8 turbo diesel engine.

The 4.2-litre diesel unit provides effortless and smooth performance in Volkswagen’s largest and most luxurious SUV. Thanks to its efficient diesel injection technology, the Touareg develops a remarkable 250kW at 4,000 rpm and a potent maximum torque of 800Nm. As with all Touaregs, the new V8 TDI also comes with BlueMotion Technologies including brake energy recuperation. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 9.2 litres per 100 kilometres which is equivalent to 242 g/km CO2.

The 4.2-litre diesel engine propels the Touareg from rest to 100km/h in 5.8 seconds and is shifted by a standard 8-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior features on the Volkswagen Touareg V8TDI R-Line are sure to turn heads, complementing the Touareg’s already clean, sporty lines. At the rear, a textured "matt black" diffuser and oval tailpipes are integrated in the redesigned bumper section. Finishing the look at the rear is a custom roof edge spoiler. Typical R-Line styling continues in the side view with striking side sills in body colour, chrome door add-ons and R-Line badges on the front mudguards. The front also sports a new spoiler lip in R-Design and completing the exterior look are 21” "Mallory" alloy wheels and dark tinted rear side windows and rear window.

Inside the Touareg V8, the R-Line logo features on the front stainless steel door sill plates and on the heated, leather rimmed multi-function steering wheel with R-Line logo and gear shift paddles. Rounding out the stylish design are stainless steel pedals and a leather gear shift knob with aluminium inserts.
