The Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) today awarded a
five-star safety rating to the Isuzu D-MAX 4x4 dual-cab ute and all-new
Isuzu MU-X
seven-seater SUV. This rating applies to all 4x4 D-MAX crew cab variants manufactured from November 2013 and all 4x4
MU-X models.
The D-Max 4x4 crew-cab scored 33.58 points (37 points is the maximum).
“This is a great result for the company as we head into an exciting new chapter of our short history here in
Australia,” said Isuzu UTE Australia’s Managing Director Yasuhiro Takeuchi.
“More and more businesses in the light commercial market are demanding maximum safety for their employees and
contractors through safer vehicles – so today’s announcement will re-open some doors for us in the new year that have
been held ajar pending today’s results”.
“The five-star ANCAP award for our new MU-X SUV also illustrates our safety commitment to families and 4WD
enthusiasts with our foray into the passenger vehicle market,” Mr Takeuchi added.
