Audi Australia has recorded its eighth consecutive
month of record sales in Australia.
Total sales for the month ended at 411 vehicles, compared with 270 in August
2004, an increase of 52.2 percent.
Year-to-date, sales of Audi vehicles are now at 3,198 units, or 36.4 percent
up on the same period last year.
Strong performers in the Audi range included the A3 Sportback, A4 sedan and
Avant models, and the Audi A6. In particular, sales of the Audi A6 3.0 TDI are
strong at around 40 percent of total A6 sedan sales.
Early in the month, the new Audi A8 range and the all new Audi A6 Avant
models were launched in Australia. Audi also launched two new advertising
campaigns during the month of August.
Audi’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann, is well-pleased with the steady
sales growth since January.
“Our goal is achieve upwards of 4,600 vehicles this year and we’re well on
the way to reaching this target. We have just introduced two significant new
models to Australia with the iconic new A8 range, and the A6 Avant, an
impressively modern car for active people thanks to its versatility and great
style,” Mr Hofmann said.
“Since the beginning of the year, we have focussed on getting strong runs on
the board every month and the strategy is paying off for Audi.”
“I am very confident that we will reach our 2005 sales goal,” Mr Hofmann
