12th April, 2006

In one of the strangest moves by a marketing department I have ever seen, Honda has 'aired' a television commercial featuring an animated Honda Jazz. In the serious business of selling light cars in Australia it is easy to see that Honda's potential customers will now see the Thai built Jazz as a toy!

The Suzuki Swift, Mitsubishi Colt, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 206, Renault Clio and Holden Barina are serious cars in a very competitive segment of the market and the marketing departments in these companies must be delighted that Honda are showing their car as a toy to the nation's television audiences.

Honda Australia indicate by taking the Jazz from Honda’s Thailand factories mean they can now offer air conditioning and keyless entry on the Jazz GLi for $15,990 (RRP). The previous model Jazz GLi equipped with air conditioning cost $17,390.

The Jazz line-up also receives a full-size spare wheel and new LED tail and high-mounted rear stop lights.

Changes to Jazz GLi

  • Full-size spare wheel
  • Keyless entry
  • LED tail lights
  • LED high mounted stop light
  • Chrome inner door handles
  • Chrome hand brake knob
  • Aluminium CVT escussion
  • New wheel cover design
  • Clear side turn indicator on bumper
  • Interior colour change
    • (Blue/Black)
    • (Grey/Black)

Changes to Jazz VTi and VTi-S

  • LED tail lights
  • LED high mounted stop light
  • Chrome inner door handles
  • Chrome hand brake knob
  • Aluminium CVT escussion
  • New wheel cover design (VTi only)
