• 79,000th sale in Australia for the Chrysler Group
• Chrysler Group model range doubles in 12 months
• Chrysler and Jeep brands to be joined by Dodge this August

The Chrysler Group will celebrate the Fourth of July having posted its 79,000th vehicle sale in Australia and, following a wave of new product introductions, with it’s most competitive line-up ever.

“While thousands of people in the US will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, parades and barbecues this fourth of July, the Chrysler Group in Australia will celebrate its American roots with its 79,000th vehicle sale and it’s most exciting line-up ever”, said Brad Fitzsimmons, General Manager National Sales, Chrysler Group Australia.

“Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge are proudly American brands and it’s fitting that this milestone comes on a day when people recognise their American heritage,” said Fitzsimmons.

“The unique American style and appeal of each of the brands is a key factor in our success in Australia. The success of the Chrysler 300C testifies to this and the arrival of the Dodge brand will further cement the notion”, he said.

Over 55,000 Jeep vehicles and 23,000 Chryslers have been sold since 1994 when Australians were re-acquainted with a succession of four-wheel-drives from the legendary Jeep brand and stylish vehicles from Chrysler.

The Chrysler Group, consisting of Chrysler, Jeep and the soon to arrive Dodge brand have doubled their stable of products in the past twelve months from seven to 14 models.

Although official VFACTS sales figures for June have not yet been released, sales for the month are expected to be one of the Groups best ever with strong sales performances across both Chrysler and Jeep brands. The Chrysler Group has had a strong first five months of the year with May year-to-date sales increasing an impressive 13 per cent over the May 2005 performance.

With the compact sized Dodge Caliber arriving in August and an array of new products on the way, the Group is poised for continued growth in Australia.
